96 Broadway, Leigh on Sea, Essex.
Starts 20th April – 4th May.
Exhibition of my latest works based on the movement and flight patterns of sea birds. Bringing together my sketches and photographs from local and Cornish coastlines to produce oil on linen paintings.
These paintings were inspired by a series of drawings I produced on abandoned boats that I saw scattered around Leigh marshes. Whether for pleasure or working these boats carry unknown stories and memories of a past life at sea that, along with their deterioration fascinates me.
This series of works titled ‘Anam’ or ‘spirit’ in Gaelic, is centred on one view at different times from the top of The Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland.
These paintings titled ‘Not all wandering is aimless’ (Mitch Corbett) look at personal journeys.
